JOSE LUIS SINGSON

Jose Luis Singson (b. 1985) graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting. His art practice consists of using organic and industrial materials in appropriating the visual language of the urban environment into his works. Using the syntax of absence and presence, he uses different media to create pieces that serve as a reflection of society immediate to his physical vicinity and in proximity to personal, local, and national history. His portfolio of selected terracotta works has led him to become one of the artists to participate in the upcoming 4th Jakarta Contemporary Ceramics Biennale from the 7th of December 2016 to 22nd of January 2017.
