MACHO MOVES

Saturday, July 20, 2013, 7:30 pm

MACHO MOVES is a performance piece on the practice of macho dancing, a unique phenomenon in the Philippines. In this performance, Eisa Jocson employs rituals of seduction in macho clubs as framework to explore relations between performer and audience. By performing as a macho dancer, she challenges the public to reflect on notions of gender, sexuality and the body as economic capital.

Part of a series of performances curated by Carlos Celdran for the exhibition Common Ground Barrier
